CBD 101
CBD VS. THC
Both CBD and THC are natural chemical compounds found in plants of the cannabis family.
CBD can be extracted from hemp or cannabis, both which belong to the Cannabis Sativa family. Our products are extracted from the hemp plant.
Hemp has been grown in the Americas since the 1600s, and with the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, it’s a federally legal crop once again.
THC is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis, which produces a feeling of being high.
CBD is legal at the federal level.
THC is legal in certain states.
The federal legal limit for the amount of THC that can be found in CBD products is .3%. Meaning, when you consume full spectrum CBD (hustle + flo™ products are made from full spectrum distillate or whole flower extract), you are also consuming a small amount of THC.
CBD is great for those who want to experience the healing benefits of the cannabis family without the psychedelic effect (feeling high).
What are the benefits of using hemp derived CBD
CBD stands for cannabidiol.
Our bodies have an endocannabinoid system.
What a match!
CBD works by interacting with various receptors throughout the body by targeting receptors in the brain and other biological systems. It enhances how the body uses existing cannabinoids, thus optimizing certain processes and functions.
This means you will feel at ease by adopting CBD into your daily & nightly routine.
Researchers have only just begun to scratch the surface on the ways that cannabinoids can promote wellness.
Adults should talk to their doctor, pharmacist or home health provider before starting a CBD regimen. It’s important to determine if CBD treatment is the right option to ensure that no drug interactions or concerns exist and/or if you’re trying to conceive, pregnant or nursing.
How long does it take for CBD to work?
The answer to this question isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. It depends on a number of factors:
METHOD OF INTAKE
Oral: CBD softgels and oral spray
CBD Softgels. The bioavailability of an ingestible like our CBD softgels is around 15-20% average vs. 15-30% with a tincture. The variables that come into play are whether or not you take it on an empty stomach, if the CBD is dissolved in fats (MCT oil is the standard carrier oil due to its specific lipid structure, hence adding it to our oral spray and softgels) bioavailability increases. If you take it on a full stomach the bioavailability increases a fairly significant amount. Take it on a stomach that is fed with [good] fats, that's even better.
Softgels will take a longer time to digest, but the time it stays present in the bloodstream is also a little longer!
CBD Oral Spray. Bioavailability (how soon you feel an active effect) depends on whether you spray directly into your mouth vs. spraying the recommended dose under the tongue.
There is a plethora of exposed capillaries that exist in your gums and absorption through the gums is a bit faster. Meaning, bioavailability is higher when consuming sublingual (under the tongue).
Sublingual: CBD Oral spray

Flower: CBD pre roll
Inhalation supports rapid onset delivery of CBD benefits. This makes it the most effective method.
DOSAGE + POTENCY
The amount of CBD you take every day will affect how quickly you will begin feeling its effects. In general, the more that you're taking, the quicker you’ll feel it.
When you’re choosing a CBD product, you should consider the type of results you're trying to achieve and adjust your dosage accordingly. This may also include testing different consumption. It can also depend on your body mass, your goals and expectations, along with other variables like your age, body weight, and metabolism. and if you're taking any prescription medications.
Everyone is different, and this is something you need to assess for yourself. Consult with your doctor to determine if CBD is right for you and to determine the best dose.
QUALITY
Not all CBD products are created equally.
You can rest assured in the quality of our CBD products. We source from a farm that’s been certified organic by the USDA. The USDA has strict guidelines for organic farming and processing. This means that USDA certified organic products will be responsibly sourced and of higher quality.
USDA Organic certification means that no synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides have been used in the cultivation of hemp. It also ensures that farmers are using tillage and cultivation practices that maintain or improve the condition of the soil and minimize soil erosion.
INDIVIDUAL BIOLOGY
No two people respond exactly the same to CBD, even if they have the same consumption, the same delivery method, and the same body composition. One person could feel their CBD dose in 10 minutes, yet someone else could take the same dose and feel it in an hour.
It can depend on your body mass, your goals and expectations, along with other variables like your age, body weight, metabolism, and Endocannabinoid Balance.
CONSISTENCY
For some people, the positive effects come immediately. A lot of people will notice that they’re experiencing less stress, less tension, and better sleep after just one dose of CBD -- but this is just from anecdotal reports. For others, it might take a few weeks to notice the powerful effects of CBD. So if you don’t feel it right away, be patient.
The key to getting the most benefits out of your CBD is consistency! A consistent, daily dose will eventually restore balance to your ECS.
Be mindful of how your body responds to your daily CBD dosage. To discover its full effects, we recommend trying it for a full 30 days.
